132. The Steps to Build a Purposeful, Profitable Business that Lasts

podcast Sep 16, 2025

As entrepreneurs, it’s easy to get caught up in the next sale, the next client, or the next shiny marketing strategy. But if your deeper desire is to build a business that lasts, one that feels purposeful, profitable, and aligned, then it’s time to pause and step back. True business growth doesn’t happen by accident. It happens with intention.

In this episode, I’m sharing the three foundational steps to designing a business that not only sustains you today but supports your mission for the long run.

Step One: Anchor Into Your Mission

Most entrepreneurs skip straight to offers, marketing, or client acquisition without ever clearly defining their mission. But your mission is the heartbeat of your business.

When you consciously write out a mission statement that aligns with who you are, what your soul came here to do, and how you want to serve, everything else flows from that clarity. Your services, business model, and marketing pathways all connect back to this central truth.

Without a mission, your business will always feel scattered. With a mission, you’ll have a compass guiding every decision you make.

Step Two: Choose the Right Business Model

Your business model determines how your mission is brought to life, and it needs to fit you.

For example, two entrepreneurs can both promise to help clients create a viral social media reel. One may coach and teach the process step by step, while another may run an agency that creates reels on behalf of clients. The outcome is the same, but the business models are completely different.

The key is to choose a model that serves both your mission and your energy. When your business model is aligned with your strengths, gifts, and long-term vision, it becomes sustainable, not draining.

Step Three: Create Momentum with Marketing, Sales, and Delivery

Once your mission and model are clear, it’s time to create momentum. Marketing, sales, and delivery are the engines that move your business forward.

But here’s the catch: when you market to the right people, sell in a way that feels authentic, and deliver your services in alignment with your energy, momentum becomes natural. You no longer feel like you’re forcing growth, it flows.

Building a Business That Lasts

A purposeful, profitable business doesn’t just happen. It’s built piece by piece, with clarity, alignment, and intention.

When you root your business in your mission, choose the right model, and align your momentum strategies, you create something that can last for years to come. Something that not only supports your financial goals but also fulfills the calling on your heart.
