What To Do When It Feels Like Your Business is Moving Slow
There are seasons in entrepreneurship when you’re doing the work, showing up consistently, and making intentional decisions… yet it still feels like your business is moving at a snail’s pace.
It’s easy to look at those seasons and assume something is wrong. Maybe you need a better strategy. Maybe you need to work harder. Maybe everyone else is somehow moving faster than you.
But slower growth doesn’t always mean you’re doing something wrong. Sometimes there’s a practical reason your business isn’t moving forward. Other times, you may simply be in a season of preparation for what you’re building next.
First, Look at the Practical Side
Before assuming you need to push harder, look at the foundation of your business.
One reason growth can feel slow is that we’re trying to build things out of order. There are stages of business development for a reason. If you’re focused on creating the perfect offer before you’ve validated your idea, understood your market, or clearly defined who you serve, you may be putting energy into something your business isn’t ready for yet.
Product-market fit matters, too. You can have an incredible service, but if you’re consistently putting it in front of people who don’t want or need it, growth is naturally going to feel harder.
Sometimes the solution isn’t more effort. It’s making sure your effort is going toward the right things.
Alignment Can Create Momentum
Then there’s another layer: Are you building in a way that’s actually aligned with you?
Human Design has taught me so much about this. There are countless strategies we're told we “should” use in business, but that doesn’t mean every strategy is right for every entrepreneur.
When we force ourselves into someone else’s version of entrepreneurship, we can create resistance that makes everything feel harder. When we understand how we're naturally designed to lead, create, connect, and solve problems, we can begin building around our strengths instead of constantly working against ourselves.
Maybe This Season Has a Purpose
Astrology and numerology have also completely changed how I think about timing.
Looking back at my own journey, I can see seasons when I desperately wanted the Spiritual Business Incubator to grow faster. At the time, it felt slow. Now I can see that I was building the infrastructure, relationships, systems, financial plans, and personal capacity required to hold the bigger vision.
If everything had happened when I originally wanted it to, I’m not sure the business would have been ready for it.
That’s the perspective I want you to consider when your own business feels slow.
You May Be Preparing for What’s Next
Yes, evaluate your strategy. Make sure you’re building in the right order. Understand your market and pay attention to where you may be forcing something that isn’t aligned.
But also leave room for the possibility that slow doesn’t mean stuck.
You may be building capacity. You may be learning something your future business will require. You may be creating infrastructure that will eventually support significantly more growth.
We’re not here to build something that grows quickly and then can’t sustain itself.
We’re here to build businesses that can hold our missions for the long run.
And sometimes, what looks like slow growth is actually a really important season of becoming ready for everything you’ve been asking for.
